Set in Italy in 1943, Sniper Elite 4 continues the wartime exploits of SOE marksman Karl Fairburne in the immediate aftermath of his earlier campaign. When rumors surface of a fearsome new Nazi weapon, a radio-guided anti-ship missile capable of sinking vessels from afar, the Royal Navy dispatches a freighter to the island of San Celini to investigate, only for it to be destroyed by the very device it sought to uncover. Fairburne is sent in to the island to strike back, tasked with assassinating the German officers who oversaw the attack and gathering intelligence on the shadowy general behind the project. His mission soon widens beyond a single killing, drawing him into the wider struggle against the Axis occupation. Seeking allies, he makes contact with the local Partisan resistance and its wary leader, who demands he prove his worth before joining forces. From coastal fortresses to inland villages, Fairburne must dismantle the Nazi weapons program one precise shot at a time.
