Storyline

Set five years after the events of the first Borderlands, this action role-playing shooter returns to the lawless planet of Pandora. In the original game, four Vault Hunters opened an ancient alien Vault, an act that caused the valuable mineral Eridium to flourish across the planet's crust. Handsome Jack, the charismatic and tyrannical CEO of the Hyperion Corporation, seized control of this new resource and now rules Pandora with an iron fist from his orbital space station, Helios. Rumors of an even larger Vault draw a fresh group of Vault Hunters to the planet in search of its promised riches. Employed by Jack under false pretenses, they are betrayed almost immediately when he sabotages their train and leaves them for dead in a frozen wasteland. Rescued by a lone Claptrap robot and contacted by a mysterious Guardian Angel, the Vault Hunters make their way to the city of Sanctuary to join the Crimson Raiders resistance and topple Jack.
