Storyline

Sean Diaz is a sixteen-year-old Mexican-American living in Seattle with his younger brother Daniel and their father Esteban. When a confrontation with a neighbor escalates and a police officer fatally shoots Esteban, a sudden supernatural explosion occurs, triggered by Daniel's latent telekinetic abilities. Sean flees the scene with Daniel, and the two become fugitives, setting out on a journey south toward their father's hometown in Mexico. As they travel along the West Coast, Sean takes on the role of surrogate parent, guiding Daniel while struggling to keep them both safe and fed. Daniel's powers grow stronger, and Sean must decide how to teach his brother to use them responsibly. The choices Sean makes along the way shape not only their relationship but also the kind of person Daniel becomes.
