The Cave

SEGA of America Inc. and Double Fine Productions have joined forces with legendary game designer, Ron Gilbert, to create The Cave. In this 2D puzzle action and adventure game, players will assemble a team of three from seven unlikely adventurers, each with their own unique personalities and stories. From there, you will descend into the mysterious depths to explore locations including a subterranean amusement park and a medieval castle, not to mention a fully armed and ready-to-launch nuclear tipped ICBM. The Cave awaits.

The story centers on a mysterious, sentient cave that has witnessed the whole of human history and now speaks with a wry, knowing voice. Deep within its labyrinth of tunnels, the cave draws in visitors who each believe they can learn something about themselves and who they might become. Seven very different characters, pulled from across time and space, arrive at its entrance, and each one carries a dark secret and a hidden desire that lured them here. Among them are figures like a knight, a scientist, a hillbilly, an adventurer, and a pair of twins, and the deeper regions of the cave open onto places tied to their private ambitions, such as a castle or a laboratory. As they descend together, the cave reveals the truth about what each of them truly wants.
